Nailap – Nail Art Photo Sharing Service For iPhone

Saitama-based company Pocara [J] released a new iPhone social camera application “Nailapp”, dedicated for nail decoration lovers.

We covered some geeky nail-arts by Japanese girls before. As well as other countries, there are not so many ladies in industry so having those techy nail art may show how popular nailing in Japan.

The app supports both English and Japanese, is priced $2.99 but for the first 100,000 users provided for free. Android version is also under development.

The Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Archive on Google Earth “Hiroshima Archive”

August 6 was a day when the atomic bomb was dropped to Hiroshima by the U.S. Army. Hidenori Watanave Laboratory at Tokyo Metropolitan University launched pluralistic digital archive “The Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Archive”.

“The Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Archive” is a pluralistic digital archive using Google Earth to display on it the materials gained from such sources as the Hiroshima peace memorial museum, the Hiroshima Jogakuin gaines association and the Hachioji atomic bomb survivors association. You can watch survivor’s note, interview video and photos here.

They launched “Nagasaki Archive“(English and Japanese) as well as this last year. Please check this, too.

Social Platform GREE Expands To 130 Million Users

GREE [J] has announced that their mobile device social platform in August has exceeded 130 million users worldwide, achieving 107 million users outside of Japan.

The number of GREE’s users is a total of the Japanese “GREE,” combined with the social game platform primarily developed for America, Europe, and China, “OpenFeint,” whose user number has been expanding by 2.8 people per second and has reached 107 million in August.  GREE’s user number at the end of June was 26.41 million users, and has expanded up to collectively 130 million users in the world.

GREE aims to be the web service with the greatest number of users in the world, driving global expansion as a social platform specialist offering social games with killer contents.
