Taiwan’s Far EasTone Starts Distributing Japanese Manga For Cellphone Users

Tokyo-based digital content distributor Bitway[J] started distributing popular Japanese manga series today to handsets of Taiwanese cellphone operator Far EasTone Telecommunications[C].   The distributed series include Dragon Ball, Naruto, Death Note, One Piece, Boys Over Flowers, Dr. Slump and Happy Mania.
Bitway provides an integrated viewer application for Taiwanese cellphone users, and it displays the content distributed in BookSurfing format (co-developed by Celsys and Voyger) and in XMDF format (developed by Sharp) from Bitway’s data distribution facility located in Japan.
This new service launch is the third case of  international content distribution services by Bitway, following one with Bouygues Telecom S.A. in France and the other with SmarTone Mobile in Hong Kong.
