After going <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2009\/06\/12\/a-recipe-site-goes-ipo-in-japan-cookpad\/\">IPO at the \u201cMothers\u201d section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange last July<\/a>, its current market cap stands at a staggering $370 million.<br \/>\nOver the weekend, the eponymous company behind the site <a href=\"http:\/\/eir.eol.co.jp\/EIR\/View.aspx?cat=tdnet&amp;sid=807716\">reported<\/a> [PDF] some other noteworthy numbers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sales doubled to $24.8 million year-on-year<\/li>\n<li>operating profit grew 2.6x to $11.7 million<\/li>\n<li>net income grew 2.4x to $6.2 million<\/li>\n<li>monthly unique visitors: 8.96 million (up 46.4%)<\/li>\n<li>monthly page views: 424 million (up 39.6%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/img.asiajin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cookpad_screenshot.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8862\" title=\"cookpad_screenshot\" src=\"http:\/\/img.asiajin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cookpad_screenshot.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"468\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nLast summer, Cookpad said it expects $18.5 million in revenues and $3.6 million net profit for the fiscal year, but now we know the actual numbers turned out to be much better.<br \/>\nWe first blogged about Cookpad <a href=\"http:\/\/asiajin.com\/blog\/2008\/09\/09\/cookpad-the-number-one-recipe-site\/\">back in 2008<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In case you didn&#8217;t know: Japan is the only country in the world that has a listed recipe site, Cookpad.
