I leave the links here from my writing memo for who would like to research deeper.<\/p>\n<h3>Mixi vs Facebook<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.netratings.co.jp\/news_release\/2011\/11\/sns-report-Oct-2011.html\">Nielsen\/NetRatings report (revised after Mixi&#8217;s statement. The original November 18 version seemed removed, unreachable)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mixi.co.jp\/news\/20111125.html\">Mixi&#8217;s counter-argument<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Besides that, Nielsen\/NetRatings also revised its terminology from &#8220;users&#8221; to &#8220;visitors&#8221;. &#8220;To avoid misunderstandings&#8221;, it is going to use &#8220;visitors&#8221; instead of &#8220;users&#8221; from now on.<br \/>\nMixi is basically a closed network, however, Facebook, though which also started as a closed network, gradually increased open pages for the Internet. &#8220;visitors&#8221; include people who happen to visit Facebook page once in the month even if they are not a Facebook member.
