\nDeNA to Acquire First Latin American Subsidiary, Atakama Labs
\nChile-based Developer to Expand Development Capabilities for Mobage Global
\nTOKYO, JAPAN \u2013 October 4, 2011 \u2013 DeNA Co., Ltd. today announced the
\nacquisition of Atakama Labs S.A., a Santiago, Chile-based game
\ndeveloper. As DeNA\u2019s first subsidiary in Latin America, Atakama Labs
\nwill enhance DeNA Group\u2019s development capabilities for Mobage
\n(pronounced moh-bah-geh) Global, a social mobile gaming platform
\noperated by DeNA\u2019s U.S. subsidiary ngmoco, LLC.
\nAtakama Labs will primarily provide engineering support for ngmoco\u2019s
\nfirst-party and third-party games, as well as the Mobage platform
\nitself. The companies already have an established relationship
\nthrough previous work commissioned to Atakama to port third-party
\nmobile social games to Mobage Global.
\n\u201cAtakama Labs\u2019 highly skilled engineers and experienced management
\nteam will be a great asset as we grow,\u201d Neil Young, Director, DeNA and

\nCurrently DeNA Group has a staff of nearly 400 worldwide, working on
\nsocial games for smartphones, and the Group plans to expand the team
\nto 1,000 in the near future. The acquisition of Atakama Labs will add
\na team of 30 to DeNA\u2019s global staff. Long-term, DeNA plans to expand
\nthe team in Chile as well.
