If yes, <a href=\"http:\/\/9leap.net\/\">9leap<\/a>, a new program that just launched, might be of interest to you.<br \/>\n9leap is the brain child of Tokyo-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.d2c.co.jp\/en\/\">D2 Communications (D2C)<\/a> &#8211; a joint venture between Dentsu and NTT Docomo &#8211; and tech company <a href=\"http:\/\/global.uei.co.jp\/\">Ubiquitous Entertainment (UEI)<\/a>. The program runs from May to December this year, with the first part lasting from May 1 to August 31 and the second part from September 1 to December 31.<br \/>\nApplicants are supposed to create an original smartphone game (based on JavaScript) and present it to a jury whose members include, for example, legendary game maker <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tetsuya_Mizuguchi\">Tetsuya Mizuguchi<\/a>, the CEOs of D2C and UEI etc.<br \/>\nThe prizes the successful applicants get include MacBooks, the chance to attend the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gdconf.com\/\">Game Developers Conference 2012<\/a> in San Francisco for free (plus there is a number of other bells and whistles).<br \/>\nYou can check out details on the <a href=\"http:\/\/9leap.net\/\">9leap website<\/a> as well as in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.d2c.co.jp\/news\/2011\/20110404-346.html\">this press release<\/a> (in Japanese).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you know a student in Japan who is under 25 years of age and who can create cool smartphone games?
