Mimiuchi: The Twitter Service Helps You Confirm Mutual Love W/O Confession

A group of three guys including an ex-Yahoo Japan employee introduced Mimiuchi[J] (meaning whispering in someone’s ear), a new Twitter service that allows you to confirm mutual love with someone you are interested in only with his/her Twitter account and without confession.   Of course, for making a result, both you and someone of your interest need have their own Twitter accounts and complete sign-ups for the Mimiuchi service.

Someone of your interest will not learn you are interested in him/her unless the service confirm mutual love.   Your Twitter followers never know it, neither.   The both will receive Twitter DMs when the service confirm mutual love.

You are allowed to register a single person (a single Twitter account) as someone of your interest, and to change it once in 24 hours.   A mutual love is confirmed every seven minute, the group says.  They expect to have it raise up to Japan’s current frequency of marriage registration, which is a new marriage happening every 1.5 minute.  They also plan to launch an English version of the service soon.

[Update: Feb 6, 2011]

Mimiuchi launched its English version.

Japan To Get Disney Android

Disney Mobile announced [J] to release new Android 2.2 smartphone in February.

Disney Mobile is one of few successful MVNOs in Japan. Since 2008, they sell Disney feature phones [J] using Japan #3 Softbank Mobile network.

This time they have not opened on which carriers the Disney smartphone works yet. But the silhouette seems to be the same as Sharp’s Galapagos 003SH [J] for Softbank Mobile. Both also are 3D-enabled, One-seg TV, Felica e-wallet.

Users may use an e-mail address under disney.ne.jp domain, which is the same as current Disney Mobile feature phones. And of course, you can use Disney characters emoji and decome(decoration mail).

You may get one of 6 original “cool & cute” design cases on a first-come-first-served basis.

Let’s Study Arithmetic With Poo!

A Japanese startup Kayac released mixi [J] application “Unko Enzan [J]” for educational purpose. This is an arithmetic learning application for the primary-school pupils. However, it has funny characteristic. Poos are featured on all problems.

“Unko Enzan” means “Poo Arithmetic” in Japanese.

Can you solve this problem?

“If a coiled poo has a diameter of 16 cm, how many centimeters is the perimeter of the coiled poo? You may assume the coiled poo is a circle. Pi is 3.14.”

The answer is……..

50.24 cm!

How about this?

“Toru’s weight is 47.5kg, and his poo is 230g. How many Toru’s poos are the weight of him equivalent to?”

The answer is……..

About 206.5!

You are asked ten problems. When done, you will be awarded with titles according to the number of correct answers and time. I was able to answer only six problems correctly! Primary-school math is difficult! :D

According to the KAYAC’s web page [J], they say, “Poo is a magic word for primary-school children. It is an universal motif and will work even 100 years later”.

It was developed as an iPad application at first. However, because of too many poo images being used on it, it was rejected by Apple for its App Store. So, they released on Mixi.

This application only supports Japanese at now. In addition, a Japanese feature phone is necessary to register Mixi. I wish they support multi-languages and make an Android application.
